Rooted in Passion
The story behind Staghornfern.org
It started with a single Platycerium bifurcatum. Like many of you, I was captivated by the alien beauty of these epiphytes—the way their shield fronds embrace the tree, growing layer upon layer, telling a story of resilience and adaptation.
As my collection grew from one to dozens, spanning from the majestic Grande to the delicate Ridleyi, I found myself constantly searching for reliable, organized information. Forums were scattered, and authoritative advice was hard to come by.
Staghornfern.org is my answer to that chaos. It's a digital herbarium and a cultivation journal combined. I built this space not just as a developer, but as a fellow collector who understands the heartbreak of rhizome rot and the joy of a new spore patch.
"We don't really own these plants; we are merely their custodians for a brief moment in their long lives."
