Staghorn breeding from spore
“Hand-selected young staghorns, slowly grown into treasures.”
After a chance encounter with tropical plants, I fell hard for the charm of niche species. Compared with the ever-popular anthuriums, I came to prefer the staghorn fern's unusual growth habit and relaxed, natural texture — and from then on I dove headfirst into the world of staghorns, with no way back.
I especially enjoy the process of propagation, so I started sowing staghorn spores: raising sporelings from scratch, watching them change over months, and picking out the individuals with the best looks and form from huge batches of seedlings — slowly selecting the staghorns that match my own ideal.
